Editorial Policy

Dreaming New York aims to publish travel content that is useful, clear, independent and practical. This Editorial Policy explains the standards we use when researching, writing, reviewing and updating our guides.

1. Editorial purpose

Our purpose is to help travelers make informed planning decisions. Articles are written to answer real travel questions: what is worth prioritizing, how places fit together geographically, how much time to allow, what may need advance booking, what alternatives exist and what practical details can affect the day.

2. Research and sources

We may use first-hand travel knowledge, official destination and attraction information, transport operators, public agencies, venue websites, reputable reference sources and direct comparisons of travel services. The source mix depends on the subject. We prefer primary or official sources for facts such as opening rules, transport procedures, ticket conditions and public regulations.

When a fact is likely to change, we try to avoid presenting it as permanent. Readers should still confirm time-sensitive details directly with the provider before relying on them for a trip.

3. Accuracy and updates

We review and update content when we identify material changes, errors or opportunities to make a guide more useful. Not every page is updated on the same schedule, and a displayed update date does not mean that every external price, timetable or policy was independently reconfirmed on that exact day.

4. Corrections

If a factual error is reported, we assess it and correct the article when appropriate. Minor edits may be made without a separate correction notice. Material corrections may be explained in the article when context is important. Corrections can be sent to admin@dreamingnewyork.com with the relevant page URL.

5. Recommendations and rankings

Recommendations are based on usefulness to the traveler, relevance to the topic, location, value, experience type, practical trade-offs and other editorial factors. A paid or affiliate relationship does not guarantee inclusion, a positive opinion or a higher position in a list.

6. Commercial content and affiliate links

Dreaming New York may earn commissions from qualifying bookings or purchases made through certain links. Commercial relationships should be disclosed clearly. Where a recommendation includes an affiliate link, the existence of the commission does not change our aim to provide a useful assessment.

Read the Affiliate Disclosure for more information.

7. Sponsored content

If we publish sponsored or paid editorial content, it should be identified in a way that makes the commercial relationship clear. Sponsorship does not permit a partner to present advertising claims as independent editorial conclusions.

8. Prices, schedules and availability

Prices, operating hours, reservation rules, transport schedules, hotel inventory, restaurant opening days and attraction availability can change with little notice. We may provide examples or typical ranges, but the final information shown by the official provider at the time of booking or visit takes precedence.

9. Images, trademarks and third-party material

We aim to use images and other materials that we are entitled to publish or that are used under an appropriate license or legal basis. Third-party trademarks and brand names remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification or informational purposes.

10. Reader trust

We do not want commercial relationships to be confused with editorial judgment. If a service is mentioned because it solves a planning problem, we aim to explain why it is relevant rather than simply placing a booking link without context.

11. Contact the editorial team
